After Action Report --------------------- April 2 - 9: Uneventful transit to Empire station April 17, afternoon: Sighted FF warship Mikaru of 900T. Avoided contact. April 20, early evening: Sighted Large Freighter Kinkai Maru of 5900T, under escort Approached to medium range and fired 6 torpedos 3 hits, but 2 were duds Kinkai Maru took some damage but still sailing We were detected by escort and took damage Damage to AA gun and Periscope - unable to repair either One crew member suffered sprained ankle but will be okay Stalked Kinkai Maru which remained under escort Because of damaged periscope setup for night surface attack At long range fired 6 torpedos 4 hits, 1 dud Kinkai Maru sunk within minutes Avoided detection
April 21: Because of damaged periscope made decision to return to cut short patrol April 21 - 28: Uneventful transit to Pearl Harbor

View AttachmentView AttachmentView AttachmentI go to pdf2jpg.net/ where I convert them from PDF into an image. Then I go to prnt.sc/ where I upload them into a host (saves room on the forum) Then I right click and get the Image URL then if you type in it will place the larger image into the post.

April 1st We set sail from Pearl Harbor to the China Sea.
April 15th We dropped off Coast Watcher, code named Buttercup.
April 21st We encountered a small freighter, fired 4 eels. All four hit, and the freighter sank.
May 6 We encountered a small freighter, fired 4 eels, 3 hit, but 2 were duds, the 1 that detonated broke the back of the freighter.
