If anyone is interested, I modified the original game map to include more place names for added color to patrol reports. I've also converted the 'mission boxes' from the submat mission tracks to a '3-day travel ruler.' When I roll for an encounter, I roll another die with 1,2 meaning the encounter occurs on the first day, 3,4 on the second day, and 5,6 on the third day in that 'box.' The file is too large to attach here but you can private email me if you'd like a copy.
Note: When I set this up, I was not limiting myself to the 10 boxes on the submat, but rather 60 days of fuel and supplies. If keeping with the encounter frequency on the submat, I suggest using the following: 1 day to leave port, two 5-day transit turns, six 5-day patrol turns, two 5-day transit turns, 1 day to enter port. This produces a 52-day patrol, it also allows for additional days due to reduced travel speeds as result of engine damage, to stay within the approximate two month patrol window. In this case, roll D10 for the encounter day with 1,2=1st day, 3.4=2nd day and son on.

Since I can't upload the map I've created a table that lists approximate location for each of the boxes on the Mission Tracks on the Submats. This assumes a 2 month patrol and roughly 200 miles/day travel between surfaced and submerged (making for 5 days/Mission Box). I also add a day on the front and back end for departure and arrival. Obviously, the farther away the patrol area, the more time you spend getting there and back, and the less time you actually have on station. For the longer range boats (Narwahl class) add an extra 5-day Mission Box on station as per the "X3" versus "X2" in the middle of the mission tracks.

Yes, I use calendars for the appropriate year as well. I've also compiled a list of significant events that occurred during the war so I can intersperse them among my patrol reports and onshore scenarios. There is some issue with the exact dates, due to which side of the International Dateline things are happening on, but I figure it's close enough.

For those who be interested, I've developed a list of missions and a movement/location matrix or boats operating out of the Philippines/Java in Dec 41, Jan & Feb 42 until they rebase in Australia. I used the mission of the boats actually based in the Philippines at the outbreak o the war as a guide.

This thing is useful.
I wanted to write something more ,such as a Logbook of the happenings on the sub, but since I don't know the exact travel days and operational times requiered I prefered to not do it.
At least now there is a guide I can follow. Many thanks !
