LCDR Dave Patton knocks on the Captain's door and is asked to come in.
"Take a seat LCDR Patton and have a good long sip of the whiskey I have poured for you, you gonna need it. Son, there is no way of sugar coating this, you know it aint bin good for some time now. The jungle drums have picked up the messages and everybody in Subron 9 has an opinion on the matter. However, all of that is bye the bye."
"I received a call this morning from US Navy High Command and this was confirmed just an hour ago and will be further confirmed by letter in a few days, to inform you of the following: Attention LCDR, as of now LCDR Dave Patton, you has been relieved of duty and will transfer out of Subron 9, immediately after confirmation of your next placement has been received."
"I am sorry it had to end this way, but that's the way the cookie crumbles Mr Patton. I wish you the best of health and good luck, wherever you end up. Dismissed."

Not sure where to post this. Let me know if it should go somewhere else.
Having just been nominated for the Navy Cross, I'm wondering about the possibility of getting a new model boat. According to the rules, for July 1944, I can request anything other than a Tench. However, as I started Dec 41 with a Gar which according to the rules was not available at the time, I'm wondering if we are using different guidelines than in the rulebook. I can't seem to find any information about what boats are available. Are we going by rules as written or some variation of that?
